About the Event
When Diana Schunn received a heart transplant on July 15, 2022, she gained not only a new heart, but a renewed sense of purpose. A lifelong advocate for children, Diana has dedicated her career to protecting those who are most vulnerable. As CEO of the Child Advocacy Center of Sedgwick County, KS, she brings compassion, courage, and steadfast leadership to the fight against child abuse.
A graduate of Bethel College with a degree in nursing, Diana spent many years in forensic nursing. Her life took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Dysplasia/Cardiomyopathy (ARVD/C), a rare and serious heart condition. After years of managing the disease, her health declined sharply, and she was told she needed a heart transplant.
