Undaunted by the night,
compelled by love alone,
she hastens without light,
confronting death and stone.
Surprise awaits her there:
A barren sepulcher,
his body gone . . . but where?
Was there a scavenger?
A caretaker appears.
She hears him speak her name,
allaying all her fears,
her trembling love aflame.
What’s lost was surely found,
for both are now unbound.
