Back to Sister-Link
Mennonite Women USA’s Sister-Link provides networking to build women-to-women relationships locally and globally. Sister-Link connections are characterized by deliberate steps to develop a giving and receiving relationship validating all gifts.
Potential Sister-Link connections can be initiated by: 1) MW USA staff, 2) church agency staff; in developing Sister-Links, Mennonite Women USA has worked with Mennonite World Conference, Mennonite Mission Network, Mennonite Central Committee, Eastern Mennonite Missions, and Mennonite Disaster Service, or 3) an individual or women’s group.
Procedures for creating a Sister-Link relationship:
a) Idea for a Sister-Link relationship is sent to MW USA executive director.
b) MW USA executive director will complete Sister-Link form, working with other involved church organizations to establish clear and mutually beneficial boundaries.
c) If initiated by a Mennonite Church agency, MW USA executive director will seek a U.S. women’s group or individual for this relationship. If initiated by a U.S. women’s group or individual woman, MW USA executive director will communicate with involved church agency to receive guidelines and/or affirmation for relationship.
(International relationships require approval and/or guidance of a Mennonite Church agency, conference, or congregation.)
d) After the connection is agreed upon, both parties will work directly with each other to carry out the Sister-Link
e) MW USA will request reports annually, and communicate reports to those involved.
