Sister-Care Seminars

Sister-Care explores ways that women can hear each other, care for each other and nurture their life in Christ together in the church, often in new types of circles, “sowing” seeds of healing and hope through conversations, intentional friendships, Bible study and connecting to resources.

Upcoming Sister-Care seminars:
January 30-31, 2009 - Franklin, Pa.
May 1-3, 2009 - Mountain States, Colo.
May 15-16, 2009 - Ind.-Mich. and
            Central District, Ind.
Oct. 2-3, 2009 - Atlantic Coast and
             Lancaster, Pa.

What Sister-Care is:

  • Training for lay women in effective caring in the church

  • Encouragement for women to explore their calling and gifts for ministry in the church

What Sister-Care is not:

  • Counselor training – lay or professional

  • Specific training for a particular church position or responsibility

Why Sister-Care?

Women have always cared for others – from the days of the Red Tent in biblical times when women gathered together and cared for each during their monthly cycles, to childbirth, quilting circles, mothers and daughters, sisters and friends sharing wherever women meet. Sister-Care addresses the question of how we can care for each other in the church in the context of our lives today.
